That’s why this Budget will provide:
- $35 million to support disadvantaged jobseekers in Victoria by extending the Jobs Victoria Mentors program, supporting disadvantaged jobseekers and removing the barriers they face when it comes to finding work.
- $24 million to set up a dedicated monitoring and enforcement unit for the construction sector within WorkSafe.
- $6 million to support the implementation of the Fair Jobs Code, the operation of Ethical Clothing Australia and the accreditation process for the Ethical Supplier Register – protecting garment workers and improving the ability of consumers to make informed and ethical purchasing decisions.
Since November 2014, our economy has generated 690,000 new jobs, including more than 175,000 jobs in regional Victoria.
